I’m Diane, and my passion for swimming and coaching goes beyond just teaching; it’s a way of life. Since beginning my teaching journey in 2011, I’ve dedicated myself to helping swimmers of all ages and abilities. From guiding babies in their first aquatic experiences to refining the techniques of adults, I ensure that every lesson is tailored to the individual. I also take pride in offering specialized coaching for those with Special Educational Needs.

My qualifications include:

– ASA Level 1 in Diving, Teaching Aquatics, and Coaching
– ASA Level 2 Teaching Aquatics
– NRASTC (National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches)
– NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification)
– AED (Automated External Defibrillator) certification

I adhere to the Swim England standards, guiding learners from the Ducklings stage to Stage 7 and coaching those at Stages 8-10. Whether in group settings or more intimate 1-1 or 2-1 private lessons, my goal is to instill confidence and skill in every swimmer.

Outside of teaching, I’m an avid Open Water Swimmer. One of my proudest achievements is successfully swimming a 2-way Windermere in the Lake District in the relay with another dedicated swimmer. I’m also committed to continuous professional development, ensuring I stay updated with the latest techniques and skills in the aquatic world.

Diane has been my son’s swimming teacher for some time. She is an extremely skilled, dedicated teacher who has helped my son to develop his skills and built up his confidence. She has a very flexible attitude and coaches him in a friendly manner. She is very accommodating to times and schedules and gives due consideration to any personal needs. I thoroughly recommend her as a swim teacher.

My experience with Diane’s swimming lessons has been extremely positive. My 7 year old son has excelled in swimming since she started teaching him private lessons on a weekly basis 2 years ago. He really enjoys his lessons whilst learning the technical side of each kind of  stroke. She is patient with him and he is now a competent swimmer.

I will now be using Diane weekly for my younger daughter who is 4. I have also introduced Diane to my daughters school friend who will also be joining in our lessons.

I would happily recommend Diane to my friends and family if they are looking for a childrens swimming teacher.

Diane is an incredibly passionate swim teacher, which is clearly evident in the way she teaches and I couldn’t recommend anyone more highly to learn swimming from. My two daughters absolutely love learning to swim with Diane and as a result are super confident in the water.

Although both my daughters had attended group swim lessons from a young age, the development, improvement and progression in their swimming came swiftly after starting private lessons with Diane. Diane tailored the lessons (2 to 1) to their individual development needs, initially focusing on  correcting and then refining their swim strokes. My eldest daughter has a hearing issue which can affect her balance, and in turn this impacted her swimming and her progression stagnated. However, Diane was able to work with her and focus on drills to improve her swim technique, allowing her to continuing progressing. With my youngest, Diane focused on increasing her stamina whilst maintaining her stroke technique and her diving.
We highly recommend learning to swim with Diane – she really is the best!
